The Oxford Diocesan Board of Education exists to promote Christian education of the highest quality in all our schools and we see our schools at the centre of the mission and ministry of the Diocese. Church schools have their foundation in the Christian Gospel and daily life in a church school will reflect that foundation throughout the whole curriculum and ethos of the school.

The Diocesan Education team works in partnership with 9 Local Authorities, offering a support service which is complementary with those of: Bracknell, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire, Reading, Slough, West Berkshire, Windsor & Maidenhead and Wokingham.  There are currently 279 schools, including two academies, in the Diocese catering for over 50,000 children and young people. Our latest guidance on academies can be found in Publications-Education News. The Diocesan Board of Education values each of it schools and offers support through a professional and successful team of officers, which includes: the Director, School Advisers, Premises Officers, Admissions Officer, RE Specialists and Administrative Specialists. In addition each school has a named School Adviser.

Members of theDiocesan Board of Education represent the Diocese on various Local Authority committees often chairing them. The Board is chaired by The Right Revd Alan Wilson, Bishop of Buckingham.

Please visit our Find a School page for a complete listing, location and contact information for all our church schools.
